STAY SAFE WITH DISINFECTANT FOGGING
ACTIVE INGREDIENT
Salinise fogging solution is made with an active ingredient called hypochlorous acid (HOCI or).
Hypochlorous acid or ‘HOCI’ is naturally occurring in human body, produced by the white blood cells when fighting off infection.
It is produced commercially as a safe, yet powerful oxidising agent, killing a very broad range of bacteria, viruses and spores.
HOCl – “…the gold standard by which all antiviral, antibacterial and sporicidal agents must now be compared.” Dr. Joe Selkon, MBChB, FRCPath, DCP.
Formerly Consultant Microbiologist, Oxford University John Radcliffe Hospital 10th March 2010.
SAFETY TO HUMANS AND ANIMALS
Hypochlorous acid has been proven not to be toxic to animals, insects and humans. there are several published studies that refer to the safety of Hypochlorous acid in multiple animal and human studies.
“It has been shown that HOCI can inactivate numerous viruses including Coronaviruses in less than one minute.”

DISINFECTANT FOGGING WITH HOCL
Hypochlorous acid is the only biocide that whilst highly effective at killing viruses and pathogens is proven to cause no harm to animal and human health.
HOCI (the ingredient) is produced when white blood cells in blood attack harmful bacteria from outside. It is harmless to the human body and does not contain any harsh or damaging chemicals that would have a negative impact on the environment or the user.
“Yet it’s free of potentially harmful additives: non-toxic, cheap to produce, easy to use and completely safe for humans. You simply spray HOCl, which appears like water, on your hands, clothes, or surfaces.” Daily Mail article 24th July 2020 discussing HOCI. MANUFACTURING AND DELIVERY
Salinise fogging fluid is manufactured in the UK and consequently means that your order is dispatched quickly and delivered promptly.
WHY USE ANTIBACTERIAL FOGGING SOLUTION
We advise fogging as a process to quickly disinfect rooms, areas and large surfaces. Disinfectant fogging is the optimal way to easily sanitise an area with multiple objects that may have harmful bacteria and germs on them.
Fogging is particularly useful when the alternative is cleaning every surface and object individually, potentially multiple times a day taking excess amounts of time and not being able to properly disinfect every object.
The process of fogging allows you to disinfect everything that the fog comes into contact with in a matter of seconds. This enables you to sanitise large/multiple rooms in a matter of minutes, killing germs and saving time and money.
Fogging works best in conjunction with your daily cleaning routine. Cleaning is still necessary whilst fogging provides a fast and efficient method of disinfection to assist your efforts.
“We should have used HOCl from the very start. It would have made a huge difference – but it’s still not too late,” Dr Darren Reynolds, professor in Health and Environment at the University of the West of England, in Bristol speaking about the pandemic. – 24th July 2020.
Fogging can be used in any home, work or business environment including but not limited to –
- Schools
- Offices
- Hospitals
- Care Homes
- Pubs and restaurants
- Shops
- Salons
- Public transportation vehicles
- Public arenas
- Factories and Industrial buildings
PREVENTION OF CORONAVIRUS
HOCI is not a new chemical nor is fogging a new process but it has received greater attention and recognition during the Coronavirus pandemic as a way of mitigating and protecting against the spread of the virus.
PREVENTION OF OTHER VIRUSES
Hypochlorous acid is proven to be effective against germs and bacteria, therefore it is not only incredibly effective in the fight against Covid 19 but is also just as useful for tackling a huge range of other viruses and germ-filled environments.
In addition to tackling Coronavirus HOCI can be used for –
- Spores
- Mycobacteria
- Non-enveloped viruses
- Enveloped viruses
- Fungi
- Bacteria
- Norovirus
- C diff
HOW TO USE ANTIBACTERIAL FOGGING SOLUTION
HOW TO DISPERSE FOGGING LIQUID
To disperse antibacterial fogging solution, you will need a ULV Fogging Machine. You may wish to purchase a machine from Salinise or you may already have one.
Salinise fogging fluid is compatible with nearly all ULV fogging machines. Consideration needs to be given as to whether the fogging solution will come into contact with certain metallic components for a prolonged time, as this can cause some corrosion.
FILLING A FOGGING MACHINE
The operator fills the Dry ULV Fogging Machine with the required level of fogging machine liquid and then following the instructions they gently spray/mist this around the area that they wish to sanitise.
It is good practice to cover electrical sockets and smoke alarms whilst the fog is being dispersed.
CORRECT PARTICLE SIZE
It is important to ensure that your fogging solution is dispersing the correct particle size for the appropriate type of fog. The particle and droplet size determines if the fog is wet or dry and this is explained below.
THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN DRY FOGGING AND WET FOGGING
DRY FOGGING
Our solution creates a dry fog, subsequently the contact surface will not be wet to touch after using our sanitising solution due to the small particle size, thus providing good and effective coverage of the desired area.
The particles are so small when dry fogging that by the time they contact surfaces the surface is already dry.
We advise using our fogging solution in the form of dry fogging for indoors, rooms and surfaces, this ensures that items such as electricals will not get wet and damaged, whilst still ensuring effective sanitisation due to larger particle spread.
It is a lot more convenient to dry fog indoors and much more effective due to the lack of wind and other weather conditions.
Our Salinise ULV Fogger allow for the operator to easily change the particle size if required.
WET FOGGING
Wet fogging is fogging with larger, heavier particles.
Some foggers such as the Salinise ULV Fogger allow for the operator to easily change the desired particle size depending upon the type of fog required.
COLD FOGGING LIQUID
Our fogging solution is for cold fogging rather than thermal fogging.
The major difference between cold fogging and dry fogging is the thick highly visible fog created by a thermal fogger as they use heat to vaporize the fogging solution; it creates a thick cloud of fog that can be white or grey. Ultra-Low Volume foggers or ‘ULV’ generate a fog of ultra-low volume droplets ideal for tackling pathogens. This cold fogging technique, produces a practically invisible fog.
The thick and highly visible fog is necessary when dealing with harsh and dangerous chemicals as it allows you to see where they are. Clearly, this is not necessary with Salinise fogging fluid due to the active ingredient, HOCI being a natural, organic product that is harmless to humans and animals.
HOW OFTEN TO FOG USING SOLUTION
Coronavirus and other pathogens can live on surfaces for days, at least in a laboratory, so in high traffic/high use areas it is wise to fog at regular intervals or when the possibility of a new transmission or new bacteria entering the environment has taken place. Conversely in low-traffic/low-usage areas you may need to fog very infrequently as the risk of new transmissions is much lower.
In addition to fogging to tackle Coronavirus, the solution is a powerful all-round disinfectant suitable for a great many different environments where germs and viruses are prevalent.
WHAT TO FOG WITH
You’ll find the prices on Salinise’s fogging fluid hard to beat so you’ll be pleased to know that our natural, organic fogging fluid can be used in any Dry Fogging machine, not just those supplied by Salinise!
THE COST OF ANTIBACTERIAL FOGGING SOLUTION
Antibacterial fogging is a highly cost-effective solution to the problem of how to disinfect a large area quickly and effectively.
Salinise fogging fluid is only £13 for 5 litres which on average we find lasts for a considerable amount of time or coverage.
Dry fogging with Salinise fluid –
- Saves staff time and therefore offers a cost saving.
- Gives confidence to staff and customers helping you to stay trading.
- Is very low cost compared to similar products on the market.
TIME SAVED AND CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
Anecdotal evidence from clients around the UK has shown high levels of customer satisfaction regarding their fogging practices.
This has meant that businesses that have stayed open during the pandemic have –
- Been able to demonstrate safe working practices.
- Delivered confidence to their customers.
- Saved time meaning that they have not kept customers waiting unnecessarily.
- Fulfilled risk assessment criteria demonstrating their steps taken to mitigate the virus.
“It’s saved us loads of time as far as cleaning large surfaces and hitting areas that maybe we hadn’t thought about as well, so it’s been a god-send for us.” Gaz Evans – Gym Manager and Olympian.
“The customer service has been great.” Gareth Jones, Head Teacher at Ysgol Estyn, Hope, North Wales.
THE USE OF PPE WHEN DISPERSING FOGGING SOLUTION
PPE is not necessary when fogging with Salinise solution (although we would encourage an independent risk assessment). This is not the case with all fluids on the market.
Salinise fluid is made using the naturally occuring product HOCI which is –
- Organic
- Safe for use around humans and pets
- Not an irritant
- We would encourage you to undertake your own independent risk assessment,
NO NEED TO VACATE A ROOM AFTER USING THE PRODUCT
With Salinise fogging fluid there is no need to vacate a room whilst fogging.
This is not the case with all fluids on the market. This is due to HOCI being natural, non-irritant and safe for humans and pets.
An independent risk assessment is recommended.
